Most know Canyons Village as the winter gateway to Park City Mountain Resort’s slopes, but it’s much more than a winter base camp for the United States’ largest ski resort. Canyons Village is also an exciting summer and fall destination and located adjacent to epic hiking, biking and golf, plus a bevy of shopping, dining and lodging options.

This pedestrian-friendly village is developing more each year, with new restaurants and events making it worth checking out any time of year. Whether you’ve visited before or it’s your first time exploring, use this guide to hit the highlights of Canyons Village this fair-weather season.

Outdoor Activities

Go for a hike or bike ride right from the Canyons Village base. The resort offers unparalleled access to mountain adventures thanks to Red Pine Gondola, which whisks riders (and bikes) to spectacular, singletrack trails. Those who have purchased 2024/25 Epic Passes (local, full and military varieties) receive free foot access to the gondola all summer. There is an extra charge to haul bikes, but season passes can be upgraded to add this feature.

Play a few rounds at Canyons Golf Course, the resort’s 18-hole, par-70 championship golf course that launches from the base area. Highlights include 550 feet of elevation change and scenic mountain views from all 18 holes. Epic Pass holders receive a 20% discount to hit the links.

The popular Canyons Village Summer Concert Series returns in late June, with the free shows taking place on select Thursday and Saturday evenings from the end of June through August at Canyons Village Forum.

Canyons Village also hosts the Park City Institute’s Concerts on the Slopes, with names like Blitzen Trapper, UB40, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Josh Turner taking the stage this summer. For more intimate, soul-stirring concerts, attend the multi-day Park City Song Summit concerts in the Canyons Village Amphitheater from August 15–17.

Celebrate America at Canyons Village during Forum Fest, a Fourth of July celebration with live music, events and activations. Delight your taste buds in August at Taste of Pendry, a gourmet food and drink event on Pendry Park City’s pedestrian plaza. Enjoy bites from the hotel’s restaurants paired with craft cocktails, wine and beer. Or shop local at the weekly Park City Farmers Market, every Wednesday from late May to the end of October.

When summer turns to fall, sample vino in the mountains at the lauded Park City Wine Festival on Oct. 3–5. The festival’s Grand Tasting is the event’s showpiece and most popular experience.

“The Grand Tasting is the pièce de résistance of the wine festival. Whether it’s your first time or your 10th time, it never loses its spark,” says Event Director Kristen Slater. “Between the stunning views, 500-plus domestic and international wines, specialty spirits and craft beer, as well as a gorgeous spread of local food, there’s a reason it sells out every year.”
