Updated November 2025: This winter season, Aero will be flying closer to Park City than any other airline. Flights from Van Nuys, CA will now operate to the private airport in Heber Valley (HCR) with tickets starting at $1400. Just 20-30 minutes outside of Park City / Deer Valley, the private airport avoids all the traffic and congestion out of Salt Lake City, especially for those traveling to the new Deer Valley East development.

Aero is making it easier than ever to travel in comfortable luxury from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles. The premier semi-private jet service launched the flight just in time to shuttle the Sundance Film Festival crowd this year and has added Napa, Thermal, Las Vegas and New York City over the past seven months.

For about the same price as a first-class commercial ticket to Los Angeles, Aero passengers have the luxury of spacious seating and the ease of departure and arrival at private terminals. Their fleet of sleek black Embraer ERJ-135s are built to hold up to 40 passengers, but Aero has configured the aircraft to seat 16, leaving ample room to stretch out.

One of the best advantages to flying with Aero is the airport experience. Aero jets fly between private fixed-base operator terminals without the lines, crowds and baggage claim that people are normally accustomed to when flying out of the commercial terminals at LAX or SLC. “One of the biggest perks of flying Aero is traveling between private terminals. You save so much time since you only have to check in 20 minutes before departure,” explains Liz Mazzei, head of marketing for Aero.

Salt Lake City passengers depart from Signature Aviation SLC, which is an entirely different terminal than commercial airline passengers use. Upon arrival at Van Nuys Airport in Los Angeles, passengers have their luggage within minutes and are quickly on their way. Aero guests have access to a 24/7 concierge, who can arrange private car transfers by a vetted list of exclusive partners.

Outdoor and sports enthusiasts love Aero as two checked bags under 50 pounds are allowed, including oversized sports equipment like skis, golf clubs and bikes. Mazzei has even seen guests transport paintings as part of their luggage allowance. This perk is perfect for Parkites who want a quick surfing weekend in Southern California, for example.

Animal owners also love Aero, thanks to a generous pet policy and the expedited airport experience. Animals under 20 pounds can go under the seat in front, while larger pets occupy an additional purchased seat. There is no weight limit for pets, provided they can remain in their allocated space for the duration of the two-hour flight.

Once on board, passengers enjoy top-notch hospitality including Starlink Wi-Fi, a premium open bar, and a fresh seasonal menu by the iconic Los Angeles grocer, Erewhon. Mazzei says, “Our meals are designed for Aero by Erewhon, and our teams work closely together to rotate items seasonally. Some of my favorite in-flight meals have been the avocado egg tartine, grilled salmon with orzo spinach salad, and carne asada with purple sweet potato and shaved Brussels sprouts salad.”

Flights between Salt Lake City and Los Angeles operate most weeks on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday. Aero is also the first airline to provide direct service between Los Angeles to Napa County Airport — all other options require a layover or a drive of several hours.

Aero has already served many passengers from Park City, Mazzei says, with the majority drawn to the convenience and advantages of a semi-private jet experience at a first-class commercial price. Through summer, flights from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles are starting at $900 one way.
