Heber Cityโ€™s small-batch chocolatier, Ritual Chocolate, now offers a monthly subscription box: Ritual Chocolate Club. For $20 a month, members receive one exclusive micro batch, test batch or limited-edition creation (a bar, a panned item, a specialty item or a drinking chocolate) and one main-line product. Subscribers get first access to new and limited-edition chocolate bars and are encouraged to provide feedback. As official taste-testers, club members may influence the brandโ€™s future flavors. Ritual also offers tours, tastings and make-your-own chocolate bar classes.

Sipping Apple Goodness

Dendric Estate, a 20-acre mountain cidery located in the Kamas Valley, is introducing its first premium cider, Dry Cut, this summer. The sparkling dry cider is made from 2024 harvested fruit and produced using traditional wine methods, resulting in a crisp and vibrant flavor profile. Dry Cut will be available for purchase in Utah in early July, and plans for regional and direct-to-consumer sales continue. An onsite tasting room is currently in development.

A Taste of Midway on Outside TV

Several Heber Valley eateries were featured on Outside TVโ€™s The Road Less Eaten series that aired in December. The cityโ€™s vibrant food scene was the focus of season two, episode four where host Biju Thomas โ€” chef, entrepreneur and cookbook author โ€” visited local favorites like Hawk & Sparrow Bakery, Lolaโ€™s Street Kitchen, Heber Valley Artisan Cheese, Midway Mercantile and Ritual Chocolate.

โ€œWhen I saw the entire episode, I was of course blown away โ€” a love letter to Midway. All of our food highlights and each person was given five full minutes of entertaining coverage. Wow!โ€ says John Platt, chef and co-owner of Midway Mercantile.

Field & Fork Feeds Families

New company Field & Fork is taking the popular recipe kit delivery service concept to the next level. Their handmade meal kits use fresh ingredients sourced directly from local farms and ranches in the Utah area like Madsnacks Produce and L2 Ranch in Oakley; Moon Shadow Farm in Hoytsville; and more. โ€œThese kits not only offer delicious meals but also share the stories and traditions of our unique mountain community, connecting people to the heart of our agricultural heritage,โ€ says owner Lynn Wood.ย

Aside from meals available for weekly delivery or pickup, the company also offers a variety of monthly in-person classes and workshops out of their Henefer location, which was previously home to Fizz & Freeze ice cream shop before it closed in November.
