Men’s self-care treatments are often forgotten in the whirlwind of female-focused manicures, facials and more. Fortunately, Salt Lake City and Park City are havens for self-care so there is no shortage of options for men to feel refreshed and pampered and to look their best. From classic barber shop treatments to high-end aesthetics, we’ve focused on four of the many options.

This full-service, luxury medical spa, located in the Liberty Park neighborhood of Salt Lake City, offers endless treatments for anyone who walks in the door. However, Haus of Aesthetics offers services specifically for men to achieve a new look, realize healthy skin, seek relaxation and enhance sexual health.
Skincare ranges from facials, chemical peels, CO2RE laser resurfacing, intense pulsed light therapy and laser hair removal to dermal filler, Dysport and “brotox.” Men’s skin differs from women’s, so Haus of Aesthetics treatments are specified for each client’s needs.
In addition to all this, they offer CoolSculpting services, the only FDA-approved fat removal treatment that is nonsurgical. Through targeted freezing, fat cells are destroyed, skin is not damaged, and toxins are flushed out by the body. This process, along with laser hair removal, brotox, basic chemical peels, P-Shots and hormone replacement therapy are the most popular services for men.
“We are a judgement-free zone, and everyone is welcome at our Haus,” says Ashton Newman, spa manager. “We are results driven, have a highly trained staff and stay up on the latest and best technology in the industry … guaranteeing our results.”

If you’re in Park City for a biking, hiking, fishing or golfing excursion, you may want to stay longer than planned. If that’s the case, your beard and hair may need a trim. That’s where Billy’s Barber Shop comes into play.
This traditional men’s barber shop has a simple and straightforward approach to men’s haircuts and shaves. For traditional shaves, men get to lean back in a lounge chair and start their experience with a pre-shave cream. The barbers will use hot towels and straight razors throughout the service, taking great care with details.
“Our spa treatments don’t focus on facials and manicures,” says Billy Cregger, owner of Billy’s Barber Shop PC. “However, our haircuts and shaves include warm towels and aftershave at the end, which make it more of a traditional experience.”
And men relish the options. “It’s not something you need every day, but definitely nice to treat yourself, your spouse or significant others with a nice shaving and trimming service,” he says. “I’ve been in the business for 11 years and am very fortunate to continue to see the same clients come in and treat themselves.”
As far as products go, Billy’s Barber Shop uses a line of Jack Black men’s-specific hair and skincare products, including face washes and lotions. All skincare products are antiaging and exfoliating, and there is even eye and nighttime serums, Cregger notes.
Appointments are recommended since most people book about two weeks out, and the barber shop is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If you find yourself at Deer Valley Resort, make an appointment at The St. Regis Deer Valley Spa, a luxurious place to spend a few hours of downtime.
“We have a full list of treatments as part of our men’s collection,” confirms Spa Manager Shawnda Brooks. “Men don’t do self-care as frequently as women, so we do have some longer treatments that are more popular. They’re offered year-round to help with sore muscles.”
These treatments include various massages that help with performance recovery as well as skin brightening. From the full menu of men’s spa offerings, the most popular are the 50- and 80-minute performance and stress relief massages, she says.
These treatments offer CBD add-ons as well as arnica, which helps relieve sore muscles after adventure outings. The spa is also starting to add Theragun into treatments as a way to increase muscle recovery. As far as stress relief goes, smart goggles are incorporated in relaxation lounges to help with headache relief and oxygen integrated into the salt room to assist with the elevation adjustment.
“We customize all our treatments to men and women separately because there are certain things a client may or may not be comfortable with,” Brooks says. “For example, certain people have preferences on the gender of their aesthetician or masseuse. It’s important when making an appointment that you specify your preferences and comfort levels.”
Reservations are highly recommended, and private sessions for group activities such as the sound bath are available upon request. Keep an eye out for special summer and fall packages as prices change seasonally.
Saltz Plastic Surgery and Saltz Spa Vitoria
With locations in Salt Lake City and Park City, Saltz Plastic Surgery and Saltz Spa Vitoria has the unique status of being one of the original medical spas in the intermountain west.
“Ninety-five percent of our non-surgical and surgical treatments can be done for both male and female patients, but I think what sets us apart is our elite team — including board-certified and world-renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Renato Saltz, experienced cosmetic injectors and aestheticians with multiple advanced certifications — who all understand men and women are different in their aging process, skin types and lifestyles,” says Executive Director Bianca Saltz-Musli.
As far as men’s treatments go, men are particularly drawn to the hair restoration practice to start. “It’s an innovative technique that leaves no scars and has an easier recovery than traditional methods,” she says. “Once they experience that, they look into offerings for Botox, Dysport, microneedling, lasers and even surgical facelifts, which all help with signs of aging, deep wrinkles, sagging skin and sun damage from Utah’s outdoor sports.”
For patients to achieve the results they are looking for it may take a series of treatments and procedures. “We love to be part of our patients’ journeys and are with them every step of the way,” emphasizes Saltz-Musli. “In fact, men are among our most satisfied patients, they often say they didn’t expect their results to look so natural and for such minimal downtime.”
